TRANSIT OF ANIMALS VIA CZECH REPUBLIC

TRANSIT OF BOVINE ANIMALS, SHEEP AND GOATS THROUGH THE CZECH REPUBLIC TERRITORY BY ROAD

At the time of the border veterinary control, the transporter shall submit the route plan authorized by the relevant competent authority of the place of origin. The route plan shall contain especially the description of the voyage, approximate period of transportation and time and stage points to rest, feed or water the animals, as well as milking time in the case of lactating cows.

Permitted duration of transport of animals is authorized according to species and category of animals and technical equipment of means of transport as follows:

1. Where the means of transport fulfil the following requirements:
- the floor is covered with sufficient quantity of litter,
- there is appropriate amount of foodstuffs with regard to the species being transported as well as to the duration of the voyage,
- there is the direct access to the animals,
- there is appropriate ventilation which can be regulated according to the internal and external temperatures,
- there are mobile panels to create individual compartments,
- there is equipment for connection to the water source on the stage points, it is possible to proceed according to the point 2.

2. In the case of road transport vehicles which comply with requirements of the point 1, the intervals for watering and feeding and the duration of voyage and rest are the following:
a) After 14 hours of travelling, bovine animals, sheep and goats must have a rest for at least 1 hour. This rest is sufficient especially for receiving liquid and, if necessary, feed. After this time of rest they may be transported for the next 14 hours.

3. If the means of transport does not comply with requirements of the point 1, the duration of the voyage without any interruption must not exceed 8 hours. The duration of interruption must be at least one hour. During this interruption the animals have to be watered and, if necessary, fed. The maximum duration of transportation is 28 hours, including interruptions.

4. After the determined period of voyage, the animals must be unloaded, fed and watered and the must have a rest for 24 hours at least.

5. In the interest of animals the duration of the voyage described in points 2 and 3 could be exceeded by two hours, especially taking in consideration the proximity of destination place.

 

TRANSIT OF PIGS THROUGH THE CZECH REPUBLIC TERRITORY BY ROAD

At the time of the border veterinary control, the transporter shall submit the route plan authorized by the relevant competent authority of the place of origin. The route plan shall contain especially the description of the voyage, approximate period of transportation and time and stage points to rest, feed or water the animals. Permitted duration of transport of animals is authorized according to species and category of animals and technical equipment of means of transport as follows:

1. Where the means of transport fulfil the following requirements:
- the floor is covered with sufficient quantity of litter,
- there is appropriate amount of foodstuffs with regard to the species being transported as well as to the duration of the voyage,
- there is the direct access to the animals,
- there is appropriate ventilation which can be regulated according to the internal and external temperatures,
- there are mobile panels to create individual compartments,
- there is equipment for connection to the water source on the stage points,
- in the case of means of transport for transportation of pigs there is sufficient quantity of water for consumption during the voyage, it is possible to proceed according to the point 2.
2. in the case of road transport vehicles which comply with requirements of the point 1, the intervals for watering and feeding and the duration of voyage and rest are the following:
a) The transport of pigs shall not exceed 24 hours. The animals must have permanent access to the water.
3. If the means of transport does not comply with requirements of the point 1, the duration of the voyage without any interruption must not exceed 8 hours. The duration of interruption must be at least one hour. During this interruption the animals have to be watered and, if necessary, fed. The maximum duration of transportation is 24 hours, including interruptions.
4. After the determined period of voyage, the animals must be unloaded, fed and watered and the must have a rest for 24 hours at least.
5. In the interest of animals the duration of the voyage described in points 2 and 3 could b exceeded by two hours, especially taking in consideration the proximity of destination place.

The route plan shall contain especially the description of the voyage, approximate period of transportation and time and stage points to rest, feed or water the animals. Permitted duration of transport of animals is authorize according to species and category of animals and technical equipment of means of transport as follows:
1. Where the means of transport fulfil the following requirements:
- the floor is covered with sufficient quantity of litter,
- there is appropriate amount of foodstuffs with regard to the species being transports as well as to the duration of the voyage,
- there is the direct access to the animals,
- there is appropriate ventilation which can be regulated according to the internal and external temperatures,
- there are mobile panels to create individual compartments,
- there is equipment for connection to the water source on the stage points, it is possible to proceed according to the point 2.

2. In the case of road transport vehicles which comply with requirements of the point 1, the intervals for watering and feeding and the duration of voyage and rest are the following: <>

- The transport of domesticated solipeds (with the exception of registrated equidae) shall not

exceed 24 hours. During the voyage they must be watered and, if necessary, fed each eighth hour.

3. If the means of transport does not comply with requirements of the point 1, the duration of the voyage without any interruption must not exceed 8 hours. The duration of interruption must be at least one hour. During this interruption the animals have to be watered and, if necessary, fed. The maximum duration of transportation is 24 hours, including interruptions.

4. After the determined period of voyage, the animals must be unloaded, fed and watered and they must have a rest for 24 hours at least.

5. In the interest of animals the duration of the voyage described in points 2 and 3 could be exceeded by two hours, especially taking in consideration the proximity of destination place.

The route plan shall contain especially the description of the voyage, approximate period of transportation and time and stage points to rest, feed or water the animals. Permitted duration of transport of animals is authorized according to species and category of animals and technical equipment of means of transport as follows:

1. Where the means of transport fulfil the following requirements:

- the floor is covered with sufficient quantity of litter,

- there is appropriate amount of foodstuffs with regard to the species being transported as well as to the duration of the voyage,

- there is the direct access to the animals,

- there is appropriate ventilation which can be regulated according to the internal and external temperatures,

- there are mobile panels to create individual compartments,

- there is equipment for connection to the water source on the stage points,

Unweaned calfs, piglets, lambs, kids and foals which still have a milk nutrition must have a rest at least for one hour after nine hours of voyage. This rest is especially sufficient for receiving liquid and, if necessary, feed. After this time of rest they may be transported for the next 9 hours.

3. If the means of transport does not comply with requirements of the point 1, the duration of the voyage without any interruption must not exceed 8 hours. The duration of interruption must be at least one hour. During this interruption the animals have to be watered and, if necessary, fed. The maximum duration of transportation is 18 hours, including interruptions.

4. After the determined period of voyage, the animals must be unloaded, fed and watered and the must have a rest for 24 hours at least.

5. In the interest of animals the duration of the voyage described in points 2 and 3 could be exceeded by two hours, especially taking in consideration the proximity of destination place.
